OEE SYSTEM FOR AEROSPACE MANUFACTURER
A global aerospace provider implemented a PlantRun system to improve efficiency
GKN Aerospace has implemented a PlantRun OEE system on several assets at their site at London Luton Airport, UK.
The system monitors equipment used in the development and manufacture of composite parts for commercial and military aircraft.
Assets monitored include an industrial autoclave, robot clean room, metal spray booth and CNC machine.
PlantRun interfaces to the CNC machine with a PlantRun Outstation and via OPC to a Siemens PLC.
Interfacing to the other assets is achieved by connection to the existing SCADA control systems.
Since the original installation, the system has been expanded to monitor additional assets including several industrial autoclaves.
Display Node hardware has also been supplied to allow system KPI's to be displayed on large screen TV's.
